I’m not aware of what happened at Fatshionista (all I’ve heard is that there were changes, and people are upset), but I actually wouldn’t mind at all if you posted about it- I’m still pretty new to the fat-acceptance thing (I owe a lot of thanks to amazing ladies like you for blazing the trail) so I wouldn’t mind hearing about the stuff that goes on in the community.
Keep up the great work Gabi, and hope things in your offline life get less hectic soon!

Like Jolene ^, I’m relatively new to the fat-acceptance community and am not sure what all the hoopla with Fatshionista is about. However, I am glad to hear that you have decided to continue with your fantastic blog. I’m also excited that you are feeling better, you’re currently employed (hooray!) AND that you are now a proud owner of that fantastic Monif C dress that has been taunting me in my dreams.
Well… I more jealous of the dress ownership than glad, let’s be honest here.

I’m really looking forward to the fat thrifting tutorial, i love being a fat thriftster, and you seem to find killer stuff. with regards to the fatshionista lj comm, it has really got me thinking just about how size 14 really seems to be the begining of “plus-size” for alot of people, which i hadn’t thought about before. i don’t think the community can be all things to all people, but even if you quite posting there please don’t stop blogging! ♥

Yeah, soooo not a fan of the changes over at LJ. I just wish everyone in LJ Fatshionista did know there are more accepting blogs outside of LJ that they could go to. I’ve been trying to think of a way to post that without the mods going crazy over it.

A couple of things (I’m a listy lol!)
1. Love the blog, I’m very new but I check like everyday because it’s so interesting/inspiring/fashionable/etc.
2. Don’t know what the “LJ” stuff is all about…feel free to post because now I’m curious
3. CANNOT WAIT FOR THE THRIFT TUTORIAL…this has always been a huge question I’ve had (I’m a size 20) and would love love love tips because I’m very into vintage/thrift/etc. first because of fashion but also second because I feel like thrifting somehow helps the environment by putting less crap out there in the world

Like others I would like to know what the LJ snippet was about. I feel like if it’s enough to make even consider shutting down your blog, your faithful readers (like myself) should be able to find out what’s going on. I tried to go to the community to see but since I wasn’t a part of it before I couldn’t see anything wrong (maybe I didn’t go back far enough.)
I really hope you don’t consider it because I would have never heard from Evans if it weren’t for you and I’d still be shopping at Torrid all the time! No thank you >.<
Do what you do, continue to blog because you obviously enjoy it and your good at it and it helps those who are plus sizers see yes you can have nice trendy clothes and look darn good. Because of you I am trying new clothes styles as a fat girl and am loving it. . . and by the way I have been eyeing that dress for months, hadnt had the money for it yet.

I was just discussing this today, the whole “not being fat enough” for some people. I think you and I are similarly sized and proportioned and both self identified as fat and yet some people still think that is NOT GOOD ENOUGH. I do hope that you continue to post, as someone else said before, it is nice to have fatfashion options that aren’t just fatshionista. Most OOTD on there are boring.

Gabbi! Please don’t leave us!! I just found your block fairly recently, and while I never post, I always get excited when you post a new blog.
I’m new to LJ community too, and admittedly, I kind of skipped over those posts you speak of. I read a few of the comments and truly understood where you and like-minded folks were coming from.
To the young lady to mentioned several other communities vs. LJ/Fatshionista…would you mind posting them here? I’m always on the hunt to find more communities.

Hi there, I am pretty new to the blog too, but I have embraced it – and have written loads of comments thus far. I am a fat girl who has wicked curves on and the fact of the matter is, I like to see girls who have similar stylin’s and tastes, as you do.
I bought two Carmakoma dresses after you wrote a while back about their clothes. I bought a kanak shop dress… I would not have found these great, wicked stylings, but for you. You are about fashion and being fat … keep blogging.

girl…the fat blogging community is filled with vastly different politics. It’s best if you skip the ‘community’ portion of it and go straight to being on your own…being Gabby. People always push us to be part of a plus ‘community’…but when I do that, I ignore what makes me uniquely special. I have a ton of plus industry friends, of course…but not because we’re in the same community…just because we’re friends…
I think you know what I mean…you have success outside of being part of the blogging community. you’re one of the few fat blog sites I actually read. so lovenati is here for you.
