Recently, I’ve noticed a shift in my personal style. Of course I will always have a special place in my heart for all things black and bodycon, but I’ve found myself more and more attracted to items that are light, bright, and flowy. (I think ASOS Curve’s white lace dress is to blame). Maybe that’s why the new Evans collection, Ruby Belle, though completely outside of my normal aesthetic, is super adorable to me. Inspired by 1950s American culture, the line consists of bright prints that channel your inner housewife. Flamingos on an A-line mini dress? Love it. I want to throw on some white cat eye sunglasses and head to the nearest drive-in.
If you want more fun items this summer, Simply Be also just launched two new collections, African Beat and Hot Tropic. Check ’em out.
That first funky little almost plaid, kind of 80s one is totally singing to me! Kind of wish it had the t-shirt styling of the others though…
Ohh, I love this style too! I have troubles finding that style for me, I am 5’11 and these short dresses tend to look like shirts on me! I blame it on my long torso.

I love this line as I wear little dresses quite often. My favorite is the plaid one on the left. I love the pink and green combination. There is also one with sails at Evans that boombands and I thought was amazing as well. It looks nautical inspired and would be perfect with that new blazer you got from Simply Be!
Keep up the excellent posts!

I am really loving them. Am going to see if I can get into some at Marble Arch tomorrow for an outfit post! LOVE the plaid one. x.
Woah. I’m totally digging this collection! Flamingo Dress? Yes please! I could see myself sporting some wayfarer glasses and wearing a straw fedora and just sitting at the park with a picnic basket, haha!
The middle one is like my destiny in a dress OMG 😀 and then I thought “It’s Evans what’s their smallest size?” *worry* then realised they do 14s… then spotted the price. Gotta save my pennies now. Thanks for sharing this find!

It must be something in the springtime air because I’ve been drawn to bright colors and prints lately, too. I am in LOVE the flamingo print dress, BTW. Isn’t dress weather the best? http://www.fitsmi.com
Please please can some lovely lady from the UK go and try some on to give me an idea of what they look like on? Times like this I wish I still lived in London, but I’m back in New Zealand and totally considering ordering it but would love some input! It’s a lot of money to shell out in NZ$ for it all to go wrong…

P.S. Gabi, you are incredible.
I ordered the flamingo dress immediately. Wanted the t-shirt style one, but they sold out of my size by the time I got to the checkout. Can’t wait to get it in the mail. I bought two tunics from Evans back in November, and they’re my favorites. I will wear them to shreds.
They are soo cute!!
I thought the same, it is so 50ties like and my Vintage Sunglasses will be so much fun with it. They all are total cute and a enrichment for evens!

One person asked for more American websites. Are any American plus retailers doing anything like this? If anyone sees any, please share – well made, interesting plus dresses seem to be difficult to find.
Gabi, it’s funny that you said that – my style has always been kind of tailored/body con with an occasional spash of brights but I’m in the dress mood too! I just bought a white tank dress with an embroidered overlay and a coral drape neck dress – is it spring fever? BTW, you look so cute in that white Evans dress! And the shoes were the perfect accesory to keep it from being too sweet. You in a different dimension – loved it.
Theese pieces are so fun! I love them!
I´m loving that red floral dress!
BTW, I gave you a Beautiful Blog Award and a Sugar Doll award. Please pop by my blog to check it out! Keep up the good work!
