It’s been over a week since I landed on US soil after visiting Milan, and I’m still pinching myself. I was lucky enough to have been chosen to participate in Marina Rinaldi’s “Women Are Back” project. Marina Rinaldi is an Italian luxury brand and part of the Max Mara Fashion Group, and the clothing is easily the nicest I’ve ever owned. The quality is visibly leaps and bounds better than most plus size brands we’re familiar with, and seriously, everything feels like butter. I’m not exaggerating when I say I got misty-eyed when I walked into the store. Everything was so beautiful–and I’m so used to expensive, designer clothing not being available to me–that realizing I could actually fit into the items I loved brought tears to my eyes. It’s sad when you think about it–that an experience that’s so ordinary for other women is such a rarity for someone a size 18…but that’s the reality. I’m so thankful to the brand for offering high end fashion to plus size women, and for bringing twelve absolutely amazing, diverse international bloggers to celebrate curves in Milan.
