I have only one thing to say, and that is: I. Love. Sequins.
I seriously can’t get enough. Have you ever loved something, gotten sick of it, and then loved it again? That is my relationship with sequins. I think it has something to do with the holidays. As New Year’s Eve approaches every year, I suddenly fall back in love with the stuff. Some people think it’s tacky, but hey, I’ve never been one to deny my adoration of gaudy shit. Anyway, the two things on my wishlist right now are a black sequin mini skirt and a black sequin oversized jacket (no, they should not be worn together). I know, I know, part of me wonders if I am channeling my inner-Michael Jackson, (is it bad that I would totally rock a silver sequin glove?)
Aside from ebay, which is pretty hit or miss, I cannot seem to find what I am looking for in plus-sizes, and it is killing me softly. So I am enlisting you, dear readers. Let me know if you come across either of my two lusted after items, and I will be forever indebted to you. Plus, then we can all celebrate together by having one big (sparkly) party. See? Win-win.
i would like something sparkly. but i’m thinking fitted sequined blazer? tell me, fashion guru, would that look fly with a white tee, jeans and leather boot? 😉
I feel your pain! I’ve been looking for a hot sequin cocktail dress for new years and have come up empty handed.
However, I’ve found a few pieces that, with a few alterations, could work for you.

this is cute and cheap, and could fairly easily be turned into a mini by a tailor. or throw a cardi on top, and voila! psuedo-mini!
i think a sequined sweater will be a bit easier to find cuz the knits are pretty stretchy and forgiving.
heres a few from f21:

If anyone is looking for cheap but still kind of cute sequins, I picked up a sequin top dress at Wal-Mart recently for $14. I know, I know, Wal-Mart. It seems like ok quality. I don’t know if I’m keeping mind because it’s a little small in the bust for me, but a smaller chested person could easily wear the XL when upwards of a 16/18.
i loove sequins. i love your blog! you are such a fashionista!!
Not exactly what you’re looking for, but check out some hot sequin action here!

Unfortunately, the farthest the sizes go is XL. It’s too bad, too, since they often carry an XXL.
I know this is an old post but I. LOVE. SEQUINS., too. And most recently, I was determined to find any sequin-like items at my local thrift store. And girl, I was prosperous! lol. Sequin sweaters. Sequin tunics. Sequin jackets. There was one sequin jacket that I HAD to have…unfortunately, it was damn to small. Ugh. So point being, shop @ your local thrift store. You will not be disappointed.
LOVE your blog. I, too, am 5’5″ and 18/20. And I also love me some fashion. I’m not as daring as yourself but I’m getting there. Funny thing is, I think you’re smaller than me. I thought you were 14/16. Oh well.
Take care.
