So it’s May 1st, the day that has been marked on my calendar for a while now; today is the launch of Forever21’s plus size line, Faith21. Well, it’s 5:45 am, and what I see on the site is leaving me extremely underwhelmed. I had high hopes, I really did, but they have just come crashing down very, very quickly. Really, Forever21? All of this build up and all you got is tacky animal and floral prints?
I am crossing my fingers that more things will be added in the coming days (or maybe even hours, it’s still early), and I am also trying to have a little faith that the line will improve with time, but right now I am more than disappointed. The options are so limited (not to mention ugly), and many of the items they featured in their lookbook aren’t even available. On top of everything else, their size chart seems to confirm every fat girl’s worst fear: their idea of “plus size” only includes sizes 11/12-15/16.
Maybe the in-store collection will be better, but I have no way of finding out–for those of you near stores that actually carry Faith21, consider yourselves lucky! From the looks of it though, I’m not missing out on much. At least my pocket book is happy. (Okay, okay, I did give in and buy these cute denim leggings, but that’s it!)
Sad. Just so sad. Again, why can’t they just take the really cute stuff in their “regular” line and make it bigger? Did they really think plus size women are in desperate need of more floral prints? Sadness all around.

Yep, the denim leggings were the only thing that looked remotely cute. They had a dress on the homepage that had potential (white with red flowers), but it wasn’t there on the listings page.
The worst thing about stopping their “plus” size at 15/16? It’s probably more like a juniors 13. Fail, F21.
Oh well. Naturally, they’ll say “see? Plus sizes don’t sell!” if the line flops, instead of admitting the designs are unimaginative and out of sync with their straight-size line. Hey, there’s always evans UK, right? (Why does the UK have a much better offering of plus size clothing across the board, anyway?)
I am not a very fashionable person, but I’m pretty sure the faith21 line sucks. And in most places I wear an xl but at forever 21 i supposedly couldnt fit into their 2x line? That’s definitely an issue. P.S. my heart goes out to you for being up at 6 to review this booboo line.

sooo disappointing. i don’t know what is more disappointing: the line or that 2X = size 15.
if i didn’t know, i would never guess that line belonged to F21.

I plan on going to check it out in person today. Although don’t love the stuff, I don’t love all of forever 21’s stuff either. I wear a 20 and I’m able to fit into a lot of forever21’s regular tops in a size L. I have to hunt around and look at fabric/cuts, but i’d say 1/2 the time things fit just fine. I’m not gonna discount the line till I see the sizes in person. I’m actually still kind of excited!
I am so dissapointed, the clothes look cheap as hell, and the models need to be bigger.
I’m curious if anyone bought anything yet though, I’m dying to know how they fit.
Ah! I thought I was the only person who was disappointed! I really had my eye on that cute plaid shirt and hoping they’d have extended sizes on their current line. And yeah, I was gonna settle for the denim leggings as well. I, too, hope the line gets better with time.
I want to know where the stuff from the look book is. I am upset that stuff isn’t on there, and that I can’t go try it on anywhere because they decided to test run somewhere not ny.
oh my gosh, i totally agree. it was really disappointing. I was expecting some really cute stuff, and all of the items were not my style at all. Ugh… it is so sad! I hope they make the clothes cuter within time.
I bought a few dresses from them and some shirts…it’s okay, def not what I was expecting, but eh. I work right down the street by one so once a week I go pop my head in and check the stuff out!
