Beth Ditto’s Evans line has officially launched! I know this stuff isn’t everybody’s taste, and understandably so, but I dig most of it. I think we’d seen almost everything in the previews, but it’s still super exciting to finally have it available for purchase. What are your faves? I love the cropped biker jacket and the stained glass prom dress.
So what’s the verdict? Love or hate?
P.S. According to my Twitter sources, you can get £5 off the new line by using code evesu94 before July 14.
LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. This is just my taste – 80s and loud and fun.
I wanna buy the jacket but they keep saying everything is sold out.
@thefatandskinny, it’s because it’s not officially for sale for another couple hours
Update: Just tried to buy some: ‘out of stock’, ‘out of stock’, ‘out of stock’….
I want more more moreeeeee.
FAN TAS TIC. I adore the first dress.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the purple sequin dress.
I want to buy something with sequins on it NOW. It’s such a tease being able to see but not buy.
I hate the dice coat and the denim skirt, but everything else has the potential to be absolutely amazing on someone who can work it.
Love it!
Ordered the geo sequin prom dress. Stoked.
uggghhhh big, fat disappointment for my big, fat ass. I’ve seen her wear WAY cuter stuff and this all just looks like the bottom of a bargin bin at Goodwill. With that, I will say I love the cropped biker jacket and love the contour of the first dress but there were much more salvagable trends from the 80s than acid wash and unflattering sweaters.
I need that denim skirt & that biker jacket. They are calling me in my spirit. I am thinking hard about how I can make that jumper work for me.
idk…i think there could have been more and it could have been a bit more diverse. I love what’s there, but i have to agree with juicyavenger. I’ve seen much better stuff on Beth and was hoping for something along those lines.
The purple dress with sequins looks like a bedazzled bag. The domino dress isn’t any better. And the blue outfit next to it looks like pajamas.
And any woman with a tummy is going to look horrid in that leather jacket. It’s just going to hang out the bottom of it.
The strapless dress on the other hand is beautiful and the denim skirt is wonderful. The shoes are lovely, too. The sleeveless black dress is going to be a tossup. The dress itself is lovely, only on hourglass figures. Apple and pear figures will not be flattered in that.
Those
I love the skirt!!!!!!
… The only thing I even halfway like are the black and white pumps, and those only go up to size 10! (I’m a 12.) Even if I could afford her clothes, I wouldn’t buy any.
Oh, noes! You’re going to be able to see the fat woman’s fat stomach if she wears the cropped jacket. People might wear shapes that are not conventionally considered flattering on their fat bodies! Chaos!
I really love the stained glass prom dress. SO cute!
I love it all, but since I’m mostly broke I had to choose one thing and I went for the jumpsuit.
Thanks for the discount code Gabi, it covered the postage cost for me! 😀
@Seamuyst, one thing to note is that British shoe sizes run smaller than American ones, and Evans shoes are particularly wide. So in America I’d wear probably a size 9 shoe, in Britain I wear a 7 and in Evans I only wear a 6. You’d probably be fine in a 10. But if you don’t like the shoes anyway then it’s a moot point.
The onlu thing I wouldn’t wear is the strapless dress, since I can’t do strapless at all. Other than that, there’s some great pieces here! I especially love the long black coay, the ‘art deco’ 80s style dress and the black and white blouse with the lomng fluttery sleeves myself. The sad part is that I’m on a tight budget and can’t afford any of it at the moment!
Gaaahhhh…I WANT THAT STAINED GLASS PROM DRESSS!! It’s absolutely adorable 😀
Jean skirt and bolero jacket. I must own these. NAOW. *adds to wish list* Everything else though? Not particularly my thing.
I’ve seen her wear cuter stuff so I was a tad disappointed. Then again I wore most of this stuff in junior high. (I’m 36) I do like the purple sequins though and the biker jacket is cute.
Maybe this is just the beginning of the line ladies…?
Ok, I cannot lie. I hate it. Its not my style, I don’t get it. HOWEVER – I am SOOO glad that it is there – because I think its wonderful that girls who are more fashion forward have a CHOICE to be fashion forward at reasonable prices. I think its a step in the right direction.
there are some things i really, really like but other things i don’t know that anyone can pull off unless they are in the “rockstar” situation that she is.
i like some of her stuff!!! luckily i am visiting London now, so i am gonna try and get over there
I wish I could afford any of these items.
Love the stained class prom dress…I would rock it with a cardigan and kitten heels. Curly crazy hair. Yeah I like that…
Like the domino dress would wear it with black leggings and rouche it up like a tunic with super straight hair…bright colored beads. Its a great date night outfit.
I can see myself now!
What a disappointing collection, I was hoping to find several items I like, but nothing. Pity..
Hate almost all of it. I’ll go and see it in person to see if it’s less awful in RL, but most of it looks like the stuff I coveted in the mid-80s when I was 9. That jumper with the face on is gross and tacky, the sequin thing is like something the Weather Girls would have worn, and the long black coat is just dull. I quite like the stained glass dress, and the denim skirt, and I’m intrigued by the leggings’ high-waisted cut but otherwise, meh.
I hate that jumpsuit. Everything else is great!
i tried to sike myself into buying the denim skirt or the domino dress. but i need to wait and see how it looks on some other fatty first. cause this fatty does not want to pay for shipping on both ends, just to try it out.
also waiting for the spider web sweater/skirt she wore in the general advertisements.
I am going to be in London next week, and that domino dress WILL BE MINE. And I am pretty confident I will be the only person back home who has one, whch also appeals to me. SO EXCITED.
If it´s sold out though, I will curl into a ball and cry for days.
I almost hate to admit how much I love the denim skirt. I can’t see myself buying it without being able to try it on, though, since I feel like it would have to fit you like a glove to work at all. I still love the black dress, though!
I just love it all. WANT!
Thank you. This is exactly what I needed to see today. I covet the purple sequin top and a bunch of other stuff.
At least it’s interesting, and I could see wearing a couple of the pieces – the stained glass dress, the biker jacket – if I got them on sale, but it’s not really my kind of retro. That said, I can still see how it would look totally, er, rad, on someone else. 😀
I kind of like that stainglass piece.
I like the strapless and the stainglass as well but everything else is a bit off…
I absolutely LOVE this stuff
