Sorry for the lack of updates last week! I’ve been working on a few things, including organizing my closet (which, in my world, is also known as playing dress-up for hours on end). I have an entire section dedicated solely to sequins and (faux) fur, which inspired me to post. I can’t believe that just a year ago, I was asking about where to find sequin blazers and mini skirts. You can’t step foot into any store these days without being bombarded by the stuff. Even if you aren’t normally the sequin-wearing type, there’s no better time than the holidays to indulge a little. I know it’s only October, but I have a feeling the holiday parties will be starting in no time.
Nothing completes the glam look like a little fur; I’ve been dying for Rachel Zoe’s faux fur vest from QVC in red fox, but I’m broke right now. (They’re all sold out, but you can put yourself on a waitlist. If you’re impatient, Torrid has a much less appealing version in brown).
1) Evans Sequin Zig Zag Dress
2) Dorothy Perkins Oyster Sequin Dress
3) Evans Black Sequin Mini Skirt
4) Evans Black Sequin Vest
5) Rachel Zoe Faux Fur Vest (sizes up to US 28, also comes in Red Fox and Chinchilla)
6) Next Black Beaded and Mesh Bubble Dress
Seriously, this list is far from exhaustive. If none of these things float your boat (or if you just want to see more), simply browse Dorothy Perkins, Evans, Next, and Asos, I promise you’ll be swimming in sequins in seconds. And speaking of Asos, it looks like my wildest dreams are coming true: Asos is launching its plus-size line, Asos Curve, this January.
Great list Ms. Gabi! And OMG, Asos is launching a plus size line!!! That will be AMAZING. I better get an extra job now, just to prepare my budget… haha.
I love sequins but I’ve always wondered about the scratching. Those dresses are gorgeous, but don’t the sequins rub and scratch against your arms?

IDK if you’re reading this Gabi, but I have a question: To gurdle or not to gurdle?
I’m 19 and I love gurdles/spanx. It’s not even because they hide my fat, but ti’s because it gives me a define shape to fit into clothes better. Plus its a confidence booster for me.
Can you do a post about this?
@corpulent it depends! some dresses scratch, others dont. hmmm.
@ceefrizzle, i think it honestly is a personal decision. if you feel better with spanx, go ahead and wear them!
Sequins are everywhere! The new Jimmy Choo collection for H&M is chock-full of sequins–love it and can’t wait for it to come out! Also seriously looking forward to the Asos Curve line.
Thanks for the heads up!

great wishlist!!!!
soooo bright
When I saw #6, I gasped. I quickly clicked on the link and saw the sizes it had and I weeped. *le sigh* Why must the size 20/22 be sold out? WHY?!! That dress would’ve been perfect for an upcoming Christmas party. Ugh.
Ms. Royal Reigns,
They are actually not sold out! Their plus sizes range from UK24-28. If you wear a size 20/22 in US, you will probably be a UK24. If you meant that you needed a UK20-22, they have the dress in that size as well here:

i’ve never been a huge fan of sequins, not because they aren’t fabulous, but because where in my life would i wear them? (i’m 17, i’ll totally be wearing them to clubs next year). all that being said i LOVE the first dress.
I can’t wait for ASOS CURVE and I tried to photograph myself and I failed miserably.
evans has so much stuff that is on my wishlist, that sequin dress being #1. also yours clothing just put up some sequin leggings for like $40, if the DP ones don’t work for ppl.
Thanks Gabi! I was bout to say…lol.
