The day is finally here: ASOS Curve has officially launched. Head on over to the site and let me know what you guys think! Right now there are a lot of great basics (which ASOS does really, really well) with a few cool pieces thrown in, but I’m optimistic that this line will only get better with time. My hope is that ultimately, Curve will grow to include all of the amazing, unique, and fun pieces that ASOS is so well known for.
After missing out on my opportunity to purchase the Beth Ditto for Evans cropped leather jacket, I’m going to make sure I grab this one before it’s too late! Oh, and if you haven’t done so yet, make sure you see Sakina’s review! She looks absolutely stunning!

I have pretty much stayed up all night trying to order, but ASOS says, “We are currently suffering from a technical issue with Addresses in the USA. Please bear with us whilst our IT team look into a resolution for this technical glitch.”
I am going to be sooooo pissed if they run out of stock before figuring out what the hell is wrong.
i’m so excited about the ASOS launch, those dresses look fab. However i’m worried about the fit.
To the above commenter, every review I’ve read (especially Sakina’s) says that the fit is very, very true to size.
hahaha I find it hilarious that they’re selling sizes 20-26 and that model is clearly a (British) size 12 or 14 at the most. Why do models always have to be so much thinner than the people that the clothes are actually designed for??
i wasn’t too impressed by the line. i’m glad that there are solid staples present, but it’s not exactly groundbreaking. the straight size clothing on asos ranges from standard fare to absolutely breath-taking; i had just hoped to see more on the breath-taking side. maybe that’s just too much to expect for fledgling plus size lines.
I went to the site and fell head over heels in LOVE with the leather bomber jacket.
I want in now! $170 is a STRETCH for this broke college student but I might make the plundge!

To be honest, the only remotely cute things in the picture above are the black dresses (which I wouldn’t wear anyway, since I don’t wear high necklines) and the one-shoulder top. The print dresses are atrocious, imho – and the baggy gray t-shirt thing …just… wtf?
I don’t see the jeggings on the site – am I missing something?

I’m brazilian, and here we have this problem: the 16 in a store could have completely different measurements than the 16 in another store. Sometimes it happens even in the same store! In the end, we have absolutely no idea of what size we are.
Does it happen in USA or the sizes 16 are all the same? Thank you!

I have high hopes for the pieces I ordered, and based on how those turn
out I might order more. It’s really hard to tell because the clothes look
so much better on the bloggers doing reviews than they do on the site :/

I so love the fact that the clothing looked better on the plus-sized bloggers than the model.
finallyko, I completely agree. The model on the site does nothing for the clothes. I don’t know if it’s her or the way they styled her. But, on the site most of the clothing looks totally blah. The bloggers, however, looked cute, sexy, stylish, and trendy. .
I’m totally underwhelmed, I expected more than basic tank tops and t-shirts. The model even looks bored by the pieces. To me it seems that ASOS was trying to throw the plus community a bone…I’m not really inspired to purchase anything.

Come on, with all know-how ASOS actually has, I think they could think out of the box and do some more other stuff to plus-size chicks; Jesus, sounds like they drew one or two models and played around with their fabrics!
I’m really hoping this is just the first launching phasis of their whole collection, because otherwise, I guess they could avoid it.

I think we all need to write to them and tell them we want more exciting, i.e normal not completely boring, pieces. I bought some leggings and jeggings as staples, but there is, to me, just nothing *fashionable*. I HATE tunic tops and box shapes. I want what the skinny women have. Body con and cinch. Why is this so difficult to understand?
I think what they are offering is great. Lets remeber this is a first for them. I think they will be adding new things. like, you can see that they have swimwear as an option, but nothings up on the site yet. I love the cut of the clothes, and i love that even the basic things have a more fashionable approch. So for me it’s a good start, but i’m hoping as well that they will expand and ad more.
I agree with what madamemango has said – that ASOS will most likely expand this range to something comparable to its current main range.
From the above, I do love the structured black dress and the one-shouldered top. Just, lovely.

I’ve done a short review of a few items I got the other day, they are adding new things daily so keep your eyes peeled.

I agree that there are some nice pieces in this range. I love a few of those cute black dresses, as well as the print dresses… but I agree the model really lets these pieces down… aren’t they made for hips and tits and thighs and bellies and the like? I appreciate taller girls can run to plus size, but this girl must be a 14 max. That is just terrible and shows no “true to form” images on the site… Thank goodness for you blogging girls and your reviews. xxx.

I think that the model makes the clothes look terrible. I’m not sure it is her fault. She wasn’t styled in a way that shows off the clothes at all. And whoever let her get away with not smiling almost at all maybe *wants* this line to fail? She needs more make-up, more accessories and more *glamour* Dammit, we fat girls want some edginess and GLAMOUR!
i beg to disagree. the model looks really great on those clothes. maybe it’s her first time to pose and model dresses such as those but all-in-all, she looks perfectly great.

Val, I think people are not necessarily blaming the model but rather how she is styled, how she is pinned into the clothes an how her coloring works with the palette of the collection. It’s a reality that straight-sized women get pinned into plus-sized clothing in order to model it, but it can be artfully done and it can be badly done and this is pretty middling at best.
At least its not as bad as Bloomingdales, where it looks like nothing’s pinned at all :/
I am totally thrilled about this site. i placed an order and am hoping the items are as cute as they are on screen when they get here.
