Anyone who has read this blog long enough knows that the UK retailer, ASOS, is quite possibly my favorite store ever. When they announced that they would be launching a plus size line, I thought I’d died and gone to heaven. They were kind enough to send some of us fatshion bloggers items to review before the line launches next week (Jan 22nd), and I don’t think I’ve ever been happier than when the box arrived on my porch this morning. They sent me five items: a white lace dress, a black batwing dress, a blue trench coat, a pair of jeggings, and a slouchy white tee.
1) The white lace dress is simply amazing. It’s super flirty and feminine, and it reminds me of the Rodarte for Target dresses that I couldn’t fit into! It is perfect for Spring, but paired with tights and a bomber can definitely work through the winter months as well.
Sizing: I believe the line will go up to a size UK26. To figure out what size you should order, my best advice is to take your measurements and check their size chart. I usually wear a US 16/18 on top and 18/20 on bottom. All of the ASOS stuff fit perfectly, and I ordered the dresses/tops in size UK20 and the jeggings in UK22.
In case anyone is wondering, all of the accessories and the studded shoes are from Forever21, the faux fur vest is from Target, and the black wedges are BCBG.
OMG!! I love love love the jeggings! Where can I buy those?
I love it all. I can’t wait. I thought it launched today, but it launches on my birthday. Maybe I can spend some birthday money on the line. YES!
So far, I’m very impressed! But I didn’t expect anything less from ASOS. I’m just glad there is now another retailer that gives fashionable plus-size women more options.
do you know what sizes they’ll be going up to? do you feel like the sizing was accurate for you?
i need everything. i repeat. EVERYTHING. those jeggings look really great, i will be ordering those (as long as they have back pockets)!
@keena, i meant to put that in the post! thanks for reminding me–i’ll edit it now.
@olivevolving they have back pockets!
Wow…utterly cute! I usually hate white anything but that lace dress is awesome. As well as that blue coat, so adorable. Clothes never look like that on me though. And I’ve been scared to order stuff from overseas in fear of bad fits and having to pay to return stuff. Maybe I’ll give it a try.And I understand about the camera, I’m still fumbling with mine.
those are absolutely beautiful! i love ALL OF THEM!! did you get to keep all of the items??
you look amazing in the blue coat, girl
That lacedres is amazing, love the coat as well, u look great as usual!x
gabi you have outdone yourself with how hot it is possible for you to be. i predict people knocking on your door regarding some catalogue work OR SOMETHING amirite people?!?!?!!?
This is definitely better than the little preview that was going around.
It just looks like the sizing is on the small size because I usually buy a UK22 and here I think I’d need a 24.

You look great, I’m also a big fan of Asos!
Thank you so much for sharing!
see?! i knew it was a lot better than everyone was griping about! regardless of what the preview showed, asos makes great clothes. hands down. and i love everything that you got. i love the jeggings and the lace dress. as an avid asos buyer myself, i’ll sooo be picking up things from that line.
random question – does anyone who has bought any uk sized clothes find they fit into the same corresponding us size? eg. i wear a 18 on top in the us and a 18 on top in the uk fits me as well? aren’t the sizes supposed to be different in some way? or maybe its just me? i dunno.
It’s better than the preview on Asos website. I was afraid…
I love your lipstick !
It is so unfair that even though you are fat your face is so beautiful and thin! NO DOUBLE CHIN! AH, UNFAIR
Beautifull, loved. PS: Sorry my english, don´t speak very well … kiss
They should have got you to model these clothes ’cause this has me way or excited than the sneak peak! What’s the length of the jeggings like? As most shops seem to think that plus size=short size.
ahh the lace dress is amazing
are the leggings denim or just…blue?
Very cute. I am glad you put your sizes on there, it helped with perspective. (I am a 14/16 on top 10/20 on bottom also).
How do you take such great pics? Do you have a tripod or someone taking the pics for you? (I think I recall you mentioning a tripod but just wanted to check). I haven’t been able to take any pics on my blog because they never come out looking right.
Anyway, beautiful as always. Definently gets me excited for Asos. I normally order from Dorothy Perkins (if I order overseas) but Asos may get my business as well.
Ah, this is definitely better than the preview! Will save some pennies for when it launches
Oh gabi. i just loved the jeggins! They had the perfect fit on you! After read this post, i went see the models wearing that. And i can sure you: their do not look that great!
xo xo.
Much better than the previews. Now if it weren’t for the spending freeze currently under way at my house…
That white lace dress is beyond stunning.
The white lace dress is beyond beautiful. A friend bought me a white lace dress from the thrift store late last year. I was stumped as to how to dress it during this season. But seeing you in the black tights, black shoes & black bomber jacket just inspired me. Thanks, Gabi!
Um, I’m getting that coat. Like, yesterday.
OMG…I love it all…and I love that slouchy tee the best! LOVE!!
I love it all so far! Especially that white dress, it’s wonderful. I saw the sneek peek on Musings and didn’t think much of it, however now seeing some of the items on you (and hopefully Christina of Musings soon aswell) I’m starting to think that ASOS has the right idea!

OMG, that coat!!! I’m in love!
wow, very cute- love the coat, tee and jeggings
Ahh this gives me much more confidence in the line! The preview pics definately weren’t very inspiring! I love the white lace dress, and that coat is amazing.
I love the jeggings and the coat is really cute I’m officially excited again about this line.
O and I could do so much with that Tee (lOVE IT).
Okay now I feel better about the line…this stuff looks awesome!
i’m so excited for that black dress. plus-size bodycon is so hard to find.
Soooo in love with that lace dress! It’s so great to see that decent labels are actually making plus size clothing these days!
Thanks everyone!
@kia, yes i get to keep the items one of the perks of being a blogger!
@madamemango usually you’re supposed to order 1-2 sizes up for UK sizing
@cecilia oh i definitely have a double chin, believe me!
@stephanie im not sure about the length of the jeggings, but they fit me well. i’m 5’5 and there is a little extra fabric scrunched at the ankles (which i like). i would say they would fit anyone from 5’3-5’7 fine.
@AVLStyle the leggings are denim
@LiteralGemini I just set my camera on the table and use the self timer…I’m saving up for a tripod!
The white dress look so great, I love how you styled it.
the blue coat and the jeggings are just beautiful. do you know if they will be shipping to canada?
Hi ya,
i just came across this blog and all I can say is wow. I used to be of the mindset that after I lost weight I would be able to buy trendy clothes/look sexy and so I haven’t made much of an effort. After going through your blog, I see so many plus size stores listed I am inspired to dress to flaunt what i’ve got, not hide it. Thanks for your awesome blog, we need more like it!

I wish I had know about your blog a couple of years ago. I used to be a lot bigger than I am now which resulted in years of wearing big baggy boy’s clothes because I got so frustrated with change rooms. To think I could of looked as amazing as you do all those years. The coat is definitely my favourite, but everything looks amazing on you.
@marisela yeahurite!

you are GORGEOUS and you have incredible style and also a great connection to your body and how to show it off. how fun that they sent you stuff!!
i had no idea asos was expanding their line until i read this post. that’s amazing. i’ve actually had tons of luck with their clothes in the past (with the exception of one polyester dress that has no give). i’ve definitely learned the art of shopping on asos, carefully reading materials to see which ones will work with my body. the swing jacket looks AMAZING on you.
xo.
These styles are gorgeous! Can’t wait for the line to be launched. Never bought from Asos before as thought sizes wouldn’t fit me, but I will definitely give these a go. And I agree with all the above, you have a fantastic sense of style!
You are absolutely gorge!!!!!

I love Asos now! They’re collection of plus size clothes is right on the mark with the style of clothing that I’ve been waiting for. I love, love, love that blue swing coat. I wish I had enough money to get it cause it’s on sale now. >__< lol. And those jeggings look good too.
I like those jeggings! Do they have a specific name/style number? Or do their jeggings all fit the same?
I totally just purchased the swing coat from ASOS. Free shipping and it was on sale. You inspire me, lady. Thanks for being you.
