I’ll admit even I sometimes still fall into thinking about “flattering” silhouettes when I get dressed, but I’m constantly trying to push myself away from that. When I wear crop tops, I do tend to pair them with high waisted pants or skirts, but I’ve been wanting to challenge myself to wear a crop top with a lower rise pant and show a wider part of my belly. I thought this sequin tee was the perfect choice to wear with distressed boyfriend jeans.

I don’t see why you worry… this flatters your curves even more!! This look sais *fresh*, it’s you
Hey! You look absolutely fab! It would be easy for me to say “you shouldn’t be worried” but don’t all of us have a tug of war with self acceptance of our bodies? I love your blog because you bring attention to these matters and show that we need to push ourselves forward.
PS: Checking out the Boohoo top as an addition to my wardrobe.

Shop great emerging designers from all around the world in one place. Wear something unique with a great story, from places like Uruguay, LA, NY, Sweden, Spain, Dubai and India.
I love this look!! Gotta get my hands on this top! Boohoo has been killing it lately!

Yes! I love it. This just gave me the motivation to buy that crop top I was eyeing just yesterday. I left it behind because I thought “Ugh, I don’t like how open it is…” I’m going back to get it! 😀
Always pushing indeed. Go girl… distressed jeans are it…
Beautiful and ya body is everything in this pic you are so hot
LOVE! Wondering what size top do you wear and what size did you get in this top? I see it is a little loose on you. I normally wear a US 24 top, and the biggest I see is as US10/UK14. Yikes.
I generally wear size 18 and yeah I got the size 10. It’s a bit snug but because it is half sequins/half cotton, it ended up working for me. I’ll keep an eye out for plus size options! But sadly, most plus retailers are too afraid to make cool crop tops like this in our size
I think you did a great styling job with this outfit! You look fantastic dear!

i’ve been looking for a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans for the longest time and I can’t seem to find a pair that is flattering. it looks like you have found a great pair…where did you get them?
I think she got her jeans from torrid. It’s stated below, in her blog post
yes they are from torrid but unfortunately are old they have other great styles on their site…i also have great boyfriend jeans from addition elle and lane bryant!
I actually got a really awesome pair of distressed boyfriend jeans I’ve worn a ton from Fashion to Figure. I think they might still be on their site!
Literally soooo beautiful. Such a cute outfit ♥
Ka-ute. Looks just a great with a lower rise bottom. Cool to know your limits AND step over them. I’m in constant flux myself.

Gabi, I’ve been a fan for years and have read all of your blog posts. I’m very proud of you and how far you’ve come, but I have to say I don’t enjoy your blog as much as I used to. It no longer has personality! You used to not only talk about fashion, but how you feel, other peoples’ reactions, how you deal with it, and much more. When I visit your blog nowadays, it just feels like a look book. I don’t see what makes you different from the plus size models we see online. I am not trying to be harsh, and I’m not even sure you read the comments but I just wanted to vocalize that this is not the blog I fell in love with. We no longer see Gabi, we see Gabi’s clothes. There is a difference.
Hi Kera,
Thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it! I always love hearing from my followers and I always read comments <3 I consider this blog more of a style diary to showcase my outfits more than a personal blog (though I do add a bit of personal stuff here and there). It has been a purposeful decision of mine to make it more about my fashion than my life, but I try to inject bits of myself elsewhere online (instagram, twitter, tumblr). I have gone back and forth with wondering how much of myself to share with the public as my blog has grown, as I'm a naturally more private person. I've hoped that showing my outfits continues to prove you can be stylish at any size, which has always been my main goal with the blog. And I also hope that my personal style separates me from other bloggers and models who may not have the same edge (I find mainstream styling of plus size clothing pretty boring, so I believe my outfits push the envelope in terms of what we usually see on plus size bodies, especially at my size–most models are around 12/14s). I appreciate your comment and it's helpful in my thought process in how I approach blogging moving forward <3 I hope you follow me on social media as I share more of myself on those platforms!
I love that you take the time to read all the comments and reply. – And reply so graciously! You’d be surprised how many bloggers don’t!
Love this look!

Oh my gosh!!! I loooooooove it so much. You are absolutely fabulous. You are my fashion icon! Keep on doin’ you boo!
I love your curves! And the jeans are looking great in enhancing the perfect shape. Looking good.
I am loving the look…
Love this look!! You inspire me to break fashion rules. You inspired me to flaunt my curves and start rocking crop tops. I too can’t get enough! As a main stream Fashion Stylist, I know all the do’s and don’ts. You’ve helped me challenge myself. I was recently told by a new friend that I’ve inspired her to be more daring with fashion and you were one of the first people I mentioned to her as an inspiration for me. I’m currently working a new blog post about the Body Positive Movement and how it’s impacted my fashion. I just wanted to take the time to let you know how you’ve inspired me and help me to inspire others. <3 Annette
