There have been a lot of conversations lately among plus size bloggers about the fact that black women–especially darker skinned black women–are often left out of brand campaigns and media coverage, and I couldn’t agree more; we need to speak up because there should be much more inclusion and representation in this industry. This is obviously a huge issue worldwide, but it’s especially noticeable when it comes to entertainment and fashion. I know change is slow, and I think it’s important to celebrate the victories that are happening, but I thought one way to help spread the love would be to feature some of my favorites here, especially since it’s Black History Month. So without further ado, here’s a list of 16 curvy and black personal style bloggers that I adore!
I am purposely focusing on non-light skinned women here for the reason mentioned above. This list is by no means exhaustive! I kept almost publishing it and then remembering another person to add! Please feel free to leave more of your favorites in the comments.

Thanks for sharing this list of fabulous women! I’m a relatively new blogger representing both plus size women and those of us that are 50+. It’s about style at any age! For years I worked as a civil right attorney and diversity consultant so I applaud you for expanding the face of this community.
Thank you for this post. I am a pale stay-at-home mom who is always looking for diversity and recently realised that all the blogs I was following were age varied but not skin or size varied. Shame on me, but I am searching and adding now! Your post is perfect timing! I look for diversity not only for myself but as a mom of a 13 yr old boy, who needs to see that all shapes, colours and sizes are fabulous! xx
Go girl, love that you did this. I follow these hip ladies, and they are all that! Glad to see them all on this list.

Love. Reminds me of your blogger spotlight feature. Lots of new faces, for me, to explore.
Thank you for introducing me to these lovely bloggers. They look so radiant! I love the variety of styles; truly inspirational.
Thank you for including me Gabi. I totally agree with you. There are so many style bloggers of color who don’t get recognized due to the color of there skin. Now I agree that so many do get recognized and it is important to celebrate that! I have to use my voice a bit more and speak on it. I appreciate you for this list and all that you do. – J
Fab post Gabi and SOOOO true. Thanks for including me. Love love muah!
These women are gorgeous and inspirational. I love the tulle skirt and sweater combo. Gabi I am a new face in the plus-size fashion blogger platform and it is hard as an African American brown skin woman to get readership and collaborations with companies and other bloggers that are not a person of color. Thank you for this Gabi.
Thanks for bringing this up…it was something I was noticing and wasn’t sure if it was just me or not.
Kudos on all of your successes but thanks for acknowledging that some equally deserving women are being left out for the reasons you mentioned!
Gabi, thank you SO much for posting this! I’ve long suspected that the voices of darker-skinned bloggers had been muted in ad campaigns. You’ve selected some of my absolute favorite bloggers to highlight. And I hope people understand that this post, in no way whatsoever, takes away from the fabulous job other women are doing. Time to tweet this out!
Thank you for this!
