I’ve never been good at adulting, but as I’m approaching 30, I’ve finally learned that if I want my clothes to last longer, I can’t treat them like I did when I was in college. Honestly, it’s just in the last year that I’ve put more effort into keeping my clothing nice–I guess this is growing up! It’s especially important when it comes to those amazing pieces I love. Sadly, it came with a tag that warned about fading, and at that point I knew I had to do everything possible to take care of it.  I’ve already worn it a few times, and I was a little nervous about washing it–yes, it’s machine washable! I hate dry clean only!–but I realized it would be a great time to use the Downy Fabric Conditioner I was sent.

As I mentioned, I’m a bit of a late-bloomer when it comes to taking care of my clothes, so I was definitely guilty of assuming Downy was just another detergent (oops!). In actuality, it’s a fabric conditioner, which you use in addition to regular detergent. The same way that we condition our hair after washing it, Downy conditions your clothing–not only softening it but actually protecting it from stretching, fading, or fuzz so you can wear your favorite items longer. (You can use it on your favorite designer pieces but it also helps keep your everyday clothing feeling more luxe). It couldn’t have come at a better time, because I’ll be rocking this jumpsuit as long as I possibly can.
